1 cup homemade almond milk (plus some for a thinner smoothie)
1/3 cups rolled oats
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 Tbsp carob powder
1 Tbs cacao powder
Few drops of liquid stevia
A big handful of spinach
1 medium frozen banana
1 Tbs nut butter (I like homemade almond or mixed nut butter but any would work!)
3-5 ice cubes
Cacao nibs (optional)
You have two options: soak the ingredients to soften the oats, or you can blend it all now, yes right now. However!!! Not all blenders will blend it smoothly without soaking first.
1. In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients except for the spinach, banana, nut butter and ice cubes. Cover and place in the fridge for at least an hour (if doing it as a morning smoothie overnight works best!).
2. When it’s done soaking, add all the contents of the bowl and the rest of the ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
3. Top with cacao nibs and serve immediately!
